Implementation

  • To increase the number of people undergoing regular check up and for that, follow up with people with hypertension and increased cholesterol
  • To increase the number of people who are aware of their blood pressure and cholesterol values
  • To increase the number of people maintaining the appropriate levels of blood pressure and cholesterol

Objective 2

To reduce instances of death and physical disability due to heart diseases through early detection, treatment and measures against chronic conditions

Implementation

  • To train people recognize the symptoms and causes of heart disease
  • To arrange for people having severe heart attack to be taken to a clinic where they would get appropriate treatment, with the help of local emergency health services organizations

Objective 3

To bring about improvements in the treatment of patients suffering from chronic heart diseases

Implementation

  • To create support centers in hospitals to reduce the physical deficiency in patients due to heart disease and in the society for long term social rehabilitation of these patients
  • To reduce the risk of recurring heart trouble and to systematically increase the health measures like medication and alteration in lifestyle starting with hospitals settings and extending to outside as well

Objective 4

To reduce the instances of deaths and physical disabilities due to heart diseases through public awareness

Implementation

  • To create educational material in the language(s) understood by the expected participants, suitable to their cultural backgrounds and appropriate with their level of intelligence
  • To identify the groups having more risk and focus on them
  • To make use of one or more channels like mass media, personal contact and training of patients and / or their therapists

Objective 5

To reduce the instances of deaths and physical disabilities due to heart diseases through training of doctors and health experts

Implementation

  • To make use of public awareness campaigns and established, well researched therapies
  • To continually train the practicing doctors in prevention and treatment of heart diseases

Objective 6

To improve the health of heart patients and to increase the happiness in their lives through government policies and legislation

Implementation

  • To educate the government officials and policy makers about the potential social issues due to heart diseases
  • To encourage and appreciate ordinary people and organizations working for promotion of cardiac care through awards, felicitations and prizes at the workplace, city, town and village and state level
  • To support state level policies and mechanisms for prevention of heart diseases

Objective 7

To take care of especially vulnerable groups or communities and also to ensure that appropriate cardiac care is available to all the strata and sections of the society

Implementation

  • To create educational material in the language(s) understood by the especially vulnerable groups, suitable to their cultural backgrounds and appropriate with their level of intelligence
  • To administer tests repeatedly to specific communities to check and monitor hypertension and cholesterol levels
  • To synchronize and standardize therapies so that same quality of treatment is available to all the heart patients
